Rebecca Pini - Thursday, March 29, 2018

Ok short and sweet because no doubt many of you are planning to clock off early for the Easter break. It's been a wonderful month of launches, events, digital and social media campaigns, movies and working with great clients and media partners.

April will see the team touring Simon Baker for his new film Breath, with a red carpet appearance at the Gold Coast Film Festival. Then it's New York New York for two of the m4m gals who are heading over for Social Media Week. This will be very interesting considering the current climate around Facebook.

Have a well deserved break and a reminder that Daylight Savings is over come Easter Sunday.  Bec xo

International Women's Day INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY WAS A SUCCESS!

SheSociety celebrated all things female, hosting a lunch on International Women's Day. With the theming this year surrounding "Press for Progress", the day celebrated equality and created discussion around the impact of campaigns such as "Time's Up" and "Me Too".

The lunch was hosted by the wonderful Sharyn Ghidella, and funds raised from the raffles were donated to The Allison Baden-Clay Foundation. Allison's mother Priscilla and sister Vanessa were present on the day and announced that the Foundation will be joining forces with Griffith University's MATE Bystander Program.

Assistant Director of the Bystander Program, Anoushka Dowling, was the guest speaker for the day. Her speech was powerful, reflecting on her life of being judged for her race, skin colour, being adopted and for her gender. Her past experiences encouraged her work within the Bystander Program. Their work looks at everyone as being a bystander and educates people on how to be a leader and to stand up against domestic violence and discrimination.

The online world isn't 100% safe and it never will be, however, it is always really important to take certain measures to ensure that we are always protected. In the wake of the latest Facebook security breach, there really isn't anything you could have done differently except NOT be on the social platform.

Sign up to The Social Culture with Issue #11 coming out next week with tips on what you need to do to protect your privacy moving forward and also a spotlight on the apps you have via Facebook that could be tapping into your personal information.
